Scrap Happy Shawls
Starting the new year off w/ 8 boxes of scrap yarn meaning half skeins or even less so I have to get creative in using them..
Planning to try to keep track of the skeins I use so I can really get my head wrapped around what I really have for scraps plus can see how much I use up this year and save $$...
Starting off w/ one ball of green and a bought one small 6 oz skein of black to go w/ this green...cost $3.00 on sale but DD bought it for me...
I also finished this one with donated yarn took almost 2 skeins (14 oz) but was worth the exra yarn for the finished product...

Unraveling the first skeins of the new year
Last year I was able to donate 40 shawls in about 4 months at the end of the year. Using as much free yarn as well as setting a goal to spend no more then $100 for the whole year for yarn using coupons and shop thrift stores to keep the spending down yet scored great deals..
This year I will be using a Visa gift card w/ a $100 budget on it so when it's gone it's gone..
Goal to donate this year will be 60 I want to be realistic and yet make sure I can met the goals I personally set.
This pattern can be found here is called Morning has broken...I love this pattern for several reasons..
